Upgrade Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 to GingerBread 2.3.6 Official Update

Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 is a low end smartphone powered with Android 2.2. It's official Gingerbread update has been released by Samsung. So, all Galaxy Mini users in India can now update their firmware to Gingerbread 2.3.6. This can be done via Kies, FOTA( Firmware Over The Air) upgrade or via flashing the official GingerBread update Package via Odin.


So, in this article I will help you to upgrade your Galaxy Mini to GingerBread by flashing firmware via Odin. This method will not brick your smartphone at any cost or damage it, if you follow the procedure completely.


Note: I will not be held responsible for any damage to your smartphone. Flashing the firmware needs skills and proper steps to be followed. However, if you follow the steps correctly, no such damage or bricking of smartphone will occur.


1. Make a backup of everything on internal memory of your handset including SMS, Call Logs, Contacts and any other data.


2. Your Handset needs to be charged atleast 50% so that it does not shut down while flashing of firmware.


3. Download the latest Gingerbread 2.3.6 Indian Updatehere.


4. Also you have to download TASS_v1.0.ops file fromhere and Odin Multi Downloader v4.38 from here for firmware upgrade process.


5. Now all you need is a PC running Windows, latest Samsung USB drivers and all firewalls and antiviruses disabled for the upgrade process.


6.Extract the firmware package via Winrar/WinZip or 7-Zip.


7. Run Odin Multi Downloader as administrator and boot your mobile in downloading mode. For this, you need to press "VolumeDown ++ Home Key ++ Power Button" simultaneously.


8. Connect the handset via usb cable to Pc. The computer will connect your handset via Odin and you can see the connected COM Port in yellow box in Odin Multi Downloader.


9. Now choose ops as TASS_v1.0.ops file which you downloaded above. Click on Protect OPS, Auto Reboot and one package. The file of one package is the destination of file present in extracted firmware package from Step 6. 


10. Click on Start button and wait for 5-15 min. to flash Gingerbread package in Galaxy Mini by Odin.


11. After the completion of process, the yellow box will turn blue stating PASS command. 


So, now you have successfully updated your Galaxy Mini S5570 to Gingerbread 2.3.6.
